Anne Sheridan has garnered international attention and praise for her exceptional investigation into the allega– tions of child abuse against former bishop Eamon Casey. Sheridan’s groundbreaking reporting and RTÉ docu- mentary Buried Secrets revealed to the world what Casey did. In 2019, Galway Diocese informed Sheridan that it had received just one allegation of child sexual abuse against Bishop Eamonn Casey. It has since confirmed that, in fact, it had records at that time of “five people who had complained of childhood sexual abuse against Bishop Casey”. These independent accusations relate to alleged events in every Irish diocese where Bishop Casey worked. Bishop Casey’s Buried Secrets also revealed how the Limerick Diocese paid over €100,000 in settlement to one of Bishop Casey’s accusers after Casey’s death. Educated at the University of Limerick, Sheridan has worked with the Limerick Leader, the Limerick Chronicle, and the Irish Mail on Sunday and is currently a news editor at the Irish Daily Mail.
